Meet Tara Tara’s been photographing weddings since 1998 but photographing people since she bought her first camera and took dark room classes in high school. Her focus is Weddings, Spaces and People (and furry creatures). “At every wedding I photograph the people, but it’s also about the space and the details. My interiors aren’t just empty spaces; they represent the spaces in which people live. My portraits say more than ‘smile for the camera’ – they show insight to personality by using the space (or lack thereof) surrounding the person”
Born and raised on the East Coast, she graduated Penn State with a degree in engineering and a minor in art. After helping to grow a very successful small engineering firm in her first career, embracing technology in her second, she discovered that working with people and being creative were most important to her. With amazing right brain/left brain aptitude, she discovered photography as the perfect fit. “It was like a light bulb went off when I photographed my first wedding! I felt so fortunate to finally discover a career making a living at what I love to do!” Inspired by light, colors, shapes, negative space, emotion and expressions, Tara finds interesting ways to portray moments in time while showing personality in each photo. Capturing what she sees is only one goal to Tara. “Probably the most important thing about what I do is that I listen. I listen to what people say they want (or in some cases it’s what they don’t say) and I help to create that moment or emotion in a photo.” Arrowood Photography (a.k.a. Tara’s photos and the photos of her associates) is a unique perspective of artistic vision and a representation of each and every client’s vision. |
