Filoli Gardens | Woodside

Filoli Gardens is a historic estate in Woodside, California, known for its magnificent gardens, Georgian Revival mansion, and beautifully preserved grounds. Just south of San Francisco, the estate offers an extraordinary collection of settings for a wedding—from formal gardens and intimate courtyards to the historic house itself.

Filoli is one of those places where there is something beautiful to photograph in every direction. The architecture, formal gardens, reflecting pools, tree-lined paths, and changing light give us an incredible variety of settings without ever having to leave the property.

What I especially love is how different the estate feels throughout the day. Portraits can move naturally from the gardens to the architecture, while cocktail hour and dinner feel completely different as the light changes. It has the scale and grandeur of a historic estate, but it still feels intimate and romantic.
