Sometimes words from the couple just say it all! Here is their story:
We first met and became friends in 2008 while both attending the University of California, Davis. It was not until 7 years later, in April of 2015, after both of us had graduated from college (and after years of waiting for "the one" to walk into our lives), that we realized "the one" had walked in years ago!
During that Spring of 2015, Abby was still living in Davis attending law school, and Jessica was working and living in San Francisco. Abby and Jessica started communicating via text and phone calls for a few weeks, and after years of not seeing one another, Jessica planned a same-day trip to Davis. The moment Jessica walked through Abby's apartment door, it clicked that Abby had been the person she had been searching for all this time. Abby will be the first to tell you, it took her a few more days than it took Jessica to come to this same conclusion, but the important part is she finally came around :)
After one year of living in two different cities, Abby graduated from law school and took the California Bar Exam, and immediately made the move to join Jessica in San Francisco. We spent almost two amazing years in the city together - countless movie nights and Broadway shows, overpriced bottles of wine, beautiful runs along Marina Boulevard, and several incredible vacations - until we realized that we were ready to slow down our pace.
In Fall of 2018, we moved across the bay bridge to Oakland. It did not take long for us to realize that the backyard of our little Rockridge home was missing something... you guessed it, a puppy! Enter: Colby, our pride and joy. Since then, our lives have never been the same. Broadway matinees have turned into Sunday afternoon hikes with the pup, and overpriced bottles of wine have gotten much more reasonably priced, because we now enjoy our wine at home, now with our pup by our side. Our pace has certainly changed in the past two years, but we could not be happier.
On October 2, we finally tied the knot and it was one of the best days of our lives.
